Mezinárodní spolupráce
Within our school, we open doors to the world not only through Erasmus+, but also through our unique projects such as the Travel Award and French Theatre. These initiatives broaden our international horizons and offer students unforgettable experiences. Read more below to see how these events enrich our school community.
Travel Award
The UK Travel Awards Competition which takes place every three years enables Gybon students to devise their own trip to England, Scotland or Wales in June, July or August and there to improve their English.
The Travel Competition began in 2012 and was the idea of Mr. Julian Wilde, former Headteacher at King Edward and Queen Mary School in Lytham, who is again organising the 2024 award with Mr. Pavel Adámek.
Entrants for the competition have to plan and write a detailed itinerary with costings and have to explain what they will do in the UK and how it will help them to improve their listening, understanding and speaking of English. The English teachers at Gybon will help and advise applicants on their submission. The judges usually favour solo journeys.
In 2024 the entries will be judged by a panel of three, each with a strong connection to the Czech Republic and GYBON. This year’s award when the competition is only for Quinta students is 15,000 Czech crowns.

French Theatre
Find out more about our school French theatre project, which began its journey in 2014. This unique project offers students not only a space to develop their artistic skills, but also the opportunity to meet and learn from their peers across Europe and even beyond.
Our French language students meet regularly after school to rehearse and hone their theatre skills together. They then showcase their enthusiasm and talent in a variety of venues, from historic European theatres to exotic venues such as Tunisia. Our theatre group has become a regular participant in various prestigious theatre festivals, where they not only present their own plays but also draw inspiration from the performances of other companies.
Our travels and performances are not only about theatre, but also about connecting cultures, mutual understanding and creating new friendships. Join us and watch our theatrical journey continue, evolve and bring unforgettable experiences to us and our audiences.
